1338 (Seaham) Squadron have begun preparations for the annual Wing Competitions day – an opportunity for all 35 squadrons in Durham and Northumberland Wing to compete in Aero-modelling, First Aid, Drill, Banner Drill, Aircraft Recognition & Photography.
If squadrons do well and win the respective competition, they go on to represent the wing at Region and compete against other wings in north region at RAF Linton-on-ouse.
In the past Seaham squadron have done very well, winning the drill competition 3 years in a row, a feat never achieved by any other squadron since wing records began and winning it a 4th time after coming 2nd by only 2 points. Seaham squadron have also won the Adult First Aid competition, sending cadets to region who then were selected to compete nationally and finally wing competitions day overall.
