First Aid

First Aid is an essential skill as it saves lives – training in this area can ensure that you could save a life if you ever find yourself in a situation. Within the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, competitions are ran yearly between squadrons, if you train well then you could represent the Corps.

Level Criteria Badge Awarded
Blue Description:

The blue Heartstart badge is the introduction to First Aid in the Air Cadet Organisation. The award is an initiative coordinated by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to promote and develop Emergency Life Support (ELS).

The training will be delivered over 2-hours.

Eligibility:

Any cadet

 
Bronze Description:

The aim of this award is to provide enhanced first aid training. The qualification is valid for 3-years.

The training will be delivered over 12-hours.

Eligibility:

Achieved Heartstart Blue Badge

Silver Description:

The aim of this award is to provide comprehensive first aid training. The qualification is
equivalent to First Aid at Work.

The training will be delivered over 16-hours.

Eligibility:

Achieved Youth First Aid Bronze Badge

Gold Description:

This award provides training that will allow a cadet to become an instructor and assessor for Youth First Aid

Eligibility:

Minimum age of 16 years. Master Air Cadet or above who has achieved Activity First Aid Silver Badge
